Brief: To design the jacket for The Secret History, by Donna Tartt.

My cover aims to use the embossed glasses to create the effect that they are covered in the white snow of the pages, with the actual glasses shown on the beneath page.

The glasses are important because they are not only assosciated with select characters in the book, but reflect an intellectual presence whilst also being linked to humanity and it’s fragility.

The white pages of the book form the opportunity for a visual reference to snow, emphasized with paper stock and type colour.
